Indonesian News

Indonesian has been so busy this week!

Prep students learned how to introduce themselves with “Nama saya…” (My name is….) and created beautiful door signs to take home and stick on bedroom doors (or fridges). Prep had the Art room bear, called Ari to help us practise saying “Nama saya Griffin” and “Nama saya Akeena” and “Nama saya Hunter”. Ari is brilliant at Indonesian!

Grade one and two students made a paper doll, which helped us practise our colour names in Indonesian. Some classes got to play their favourite Indonesian game – The Instructional Language Game, taught to us last year by Sarah. We love it!!

Grade three four students worked hard creating Indonesian and English signs for all around the school. We hope this will help everyone start to learn the words for places in our school. We even made a sign that says “Be happy” (Berbahagialah!). Watch out for our wonderful signs around the school.

Grades five and six students started creating fantastic cartoons to practise everyday greetings in Indonesian. They are a work in progress but once we’ve finished were going to share them with some of the younger students.

All students got to try Indonesian tamarind fruit lollies. These amazingly sour and salty little treats gave everyone a zingy surprise. About half of the students who tried them really liked them and almost ALL the Preppies LOVED them!
