Psalm 107

This week, during the season of Lent, we continue our journey through the Psalms, which helps us to see the depth of love that God has for each and every one of us.

In Psalm 107, it is written:

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for his steadfast love endures forever (v. 1)

He led them by a straight way until they found a city to dwell in. Let them thank the Lord for His steadfast love, for His wondrous works to the children of man! (v. 7 - 8)

He burst them out of the darkness and the shadow of death , and burst their bonds apart. Let them thank the Lord for His steadfast love, for His wondrous works for the children of man (v. 14 - 15).

Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things, let them consider the steadfast love of the Lord (v. 43).

This is a wonderful Psalm which clearly shows that God walks with us and has a plan to deliver us from the difficult situations that we encounter. Sometimes our prayers are answered in the here and now, and we see God clearly at work. At other times, we have to wait for this help at the right time. In other situations, we look forward to the final deliverance we will have from an imperfect world and look forward to being a part of the new heaven and new earth that we read about in the book of Revelation. Regardless, we are reminded that our God is a faithful God, who does watch over us and care for us, and we can be reassured of his salvation and deliverance.

Lord, we give thanks that you walk with us and have plans for our good, and for our salvation. We thank you for the death and resurrection of your Son Jesus, given for us so that we might have eternal life with you. We thank you for your goodness and mercy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
