Principal's Report

As we approached the end of the term, I extended my appreciation to all our staff for their unwavering commitment and hard work throughout these demanding months. The beginning of the year has been particularly busy, and I am truly grateful to those staff members who have gone above and beyond to contribute to the success of our school.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our families a safe and joyful holiday season. We eagerly anticipate the return of our students on Tuesday, April 30d, refreshed and ready for the upcoming term.

On Monday, April 8th, I had the pleasure of attending the induction ceremony of our Student Representative Council (SRC). It was inspiring to witness so many students eagerly stepping forward to represent their peers. You can find photos from the event in the newsletter.

A special thank you and congratulations to our newly inducted SRC members for organising a successful disco. It was delightful to see our students enjoying themselves responsibly on the dance floor.

Additionally, I had the opportunity to attend the Local AECG (Aboriginal Education Consultative Group) meeting on Thursday, April 4th. We are pleased to see the reformation of the AECG committee and eagerly anticipate collaborating closely with them in the forthcoming months.-

In the coming days, all families will receive a General Permission note. This note seeks your consent for various off-site activities, such as educational outings and local events. Please keep an eye out for this note, which will be distributed through School Bytes. Your timely response will greatly assist us in facilitating these valuable experiences for our students.

Additionally, students in Years 7 and 9 have successfully completed their NAPLAN assessments, while others have undertaken their minimum standards testing. I extend my sincere gratitude to our Paraprofessionals for their diligent organization and facilitation of these important assessments.

We currently have several students out on work experience placements, and we want to give special recognition to Jaydah Kerr, who is undertaking her placement at Taronga Zoo. This presents a fantastic opportunity for Jaydah, and we hope it inspires more students to seize the chance for work experience. Consider the valuable and enriching experiences that can be gained through such opportunities.

I would like to inform you that, due to the current circumstances within the school, we have decided to revert back to having one Deputy Principal starting next term. I want to extend my sincere appreciation to Mrs. Woods for her dedication and support during her tenure as Deputy Principal. Mrs. Woods will be transitioning back to her role as Head Teacher of Technological and Applied Studies (TAS).

Additionally, I had the opportunity to attend the Local AECG (Aboriginal Education Consultative Group) meeting on Thursday, April 4th. We are pleased to see the reformation of the AECG committee and eagerly anticipate collaborating closely with them in the forthcoming months.
