SCIENCE AND HUMANITIES INQUIRY PLANNING

At Valkstone PS, innovation and collaboration are at the heart of our teaching and learning approach. As we gear up for an exciting Term 2, our teachers this week have embarked on a journey of collaborative planning alongside consultant Kate Korber from The Inquiry Project. Together, we’re shaping engaging and dynamic science and humanities inquiries that promise to ignite curiosity and deepen understanding among our students.

Kate Korber's expertise in inquiry-based learning is renowned, and her partnership with our school marks a significant milestone in our commitment to providing enriching learning experiences. By weaving together, the principles of inquiry with our curriculum objectives, we aim to foster a culture of exploration and critical thinking in our classrooms.

NAPLAN 2024

As the NAPLAN testing period concludes, we want to extend our thanks to all the students who participated with diligence, determination, and a positive attitude. Students demonstrated a commitment to showcasing their skills and knowledge and are to be commended for their efforts. We are immensely proud of each and every one of our Year 3 and Year 5 students.

NAPLAN (National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy) plays a vital role in assessing and improving the educational outcomes of students across Australia. It provides valuable insights into individual and collective areas of strength and areas for growth, helping us tailor our teaching methods to better support students. We will inform relevant parents once we have a date for when the results will be available.
