🟪 Celebrating Easter: A Time for Renewal and Joy

Easter is a special time that brings joy and renewal to people worldwide. It's not just about Easter eggs and bunnies; it's a time to reflect, renew our spirits, and celebrate new beginnings. Within the Catholic church, Easter is not just Easter Sunday; it is a period of 40 days that ends on the Feast of Pentecost.

The journey began with Lent, a period of reflection and preparation through prayer and kindness. We then followed Jesus' path during Holy Week, from Palm Sunday to Good Friday, experiencing his story of sacrifice and triumph. Our Year 11 and Year 6 students helped us to remember Holy week through their prayerful presentation of the Stations of the Cross.

For most of us Easter Sunday is the highlight, marking Jesus' resurrection and the promise of new life. It's a time of happiness, family gatherings, and sharing love with others.

Easter's message is universal, offering hope and reminding us of our ability to overcome challenges. In our school, we continue to celebrate Easter by helping others, and appreciating the blessings in our lives.

Let us become spirit filled people who speak words that heal, restore and make others happy and build people up, instead of tearing them down. Spirit filled people pass on the love of God to the people living around them by acts of kindness, mercy and charity. Hence, let us ask the Holy Spirit for a spirit of love instead of hate, a spirit of helpfulness instead of non-cooperation, a spirit of generosity instead of greed and a spirit of gentleness in place of our spirit of ruthlessness.

Let's embrace Easter's spirit of renewal, hope, and unity, making every day brighter and more compassionate.
