Parents as Helpers Course

Last week we held our first Parents as Helpers and Volunteers Course. It was a successful first session, with 16 people attending. We discussed different ways parents/carers can help, appropriate ways of speaking and working with students and the policies volunteers need to be aware of relating to child safety.

If you are interested in being a parent helper/volunteer in the classroom, assisting on excursions, incursions or camps you MUST complete this course.

Our next Parents as Helpers and Volunteers Course will be held on Monday 25th March at 9:10am. The term 2 dates are Friday 19th April at 9:10am and Monday 6th May at 2:45pm. 

NAPLAN

This week our year 3 and year 5 students participated in NAPLAN testing. The students were well prepared and looked quite comfortable and confident during the whole process. 

We must remember that this is a snapshot of a child’s ability in different learning areas. It does not replace ongoing assessments made by teachers about student performance.

Next week students will completing the Numeracy assessment and students who have been absent will have catch-up sessions.
