From the Music Room…

Mrs Keep

Our senior students have been exploring the History of Rock and Roll. During one lesson they enjoyed playing “We will rock you” on the marimbas. At the moment they are working on a project of either a band or singer of their own choice which will be collated into a book.

Several students have been keen to perform on the piano recently and their classmates have been impressed with their confidence and ability.

RECORDER ORDERS:

If your child is in grade 3 or 4 please ensure you either accept or decline the recorder orders on Compass by March 22. Most year 4 students will have one from last year so they need to bring it back to school by next term. Recorders will be purchased ready to begin our lessons once we return after the holidays.

CHOIRS:

Both our choirs have been making steady progress this term and we look forward to performing for families during our Open Day in May.

Junior choir has been learning two songs: "It's Ruff Being a Dog" and "Because they're cute".

Senior choir are currently working on "Believer" and "A Million Dreams".

MARIMBA BAND:

The Marimba Band has been impressive this year. We enjoyed a visit from Mr Gordon on Wednesday who was instrumental in commencing this band during his time as a teacher at DPS. He jumped onto the drum kit and made our music sound even better!
