URSTRONG - Day of Friendship in the Junior School. - Thursday 11 April, 2024
On Thursday 11 April 2024, the Junior School will celebrate its annual URSTRONG “Day of Friendship”. URStrong provides a bullying prevention framework that teaches students the skills and strategies to empower them to self-govern and make healthy choices in their relationships. It is a proactive system that teaches interpersonal skills and conflict-resolution from a young age.
Research shows that relationships are the heart of wellbeing & learning. When we get friendships right in schools, children flourish.Tyson Greenwood (Director of URSTRONG Schools) will conduct sessions with our Stage 1, 2 and 3 students which will strengthen their friendship skills and teach them to develop healthy relationships.
Our class teachers reinforce the URSTRONG language we use at Kambala to enable our girls to identify, express and manage their thoughts and feelings around their relationships in order to ensure they remain healthy and supportive. Having a shared language and expectations for our relationships in the Junior School ensures we feel supported and connected, which allows us to thrive at school.
