Wonderful 1/2
0ne-two-rful 1/2s
Term 2, Week 2, 2024 - Friday 26th April.
What have we been up to?
What a fantastic start to Term 2! We hope everyone had an awesome break and is ready for what is going to be a super busy term with lots of things happening.
During the past two weeks students have been engaged in the annual ‘Water Safety and Swimming’ program. All participating students have been learning lots about water safety, various swimming techniques and how to have fun at the pool safely. This has been a great experience for all involved and the 1’s and 2’s have demonstrated fantastic behaviour when travelling to and from the pool and when using the facilities at Waves.
All students have been enjoying their Maths sessions so far this term. We have been looking at 2-dimensional shapes and 3-dimensional objects. We have learned about the various dimensions of these shapes and objects and their individual properties. They have participated in lots of different learning activities including ‘Shape Hunts’ and hands-on sessions that allowed them to explore each object in detail.
During Literacy this term we will have a large focus on informational texts. All students will have the opportunity to explore a range of texts and learn lots about different topics including animals and sports.
Readers have now been sent out. Students must bring a folder to be able to take a book home and can change them each week. These books may seem easy, this is because they include the sounds that they have already learnt and these books allow them to master these sounds before moving on. Please keep reading other books at home too.
Looking forward to an excellent Term 2!
The 1’s & 2’s completed a 3D shape hunt around the school and found some fantastic objects!
