We look forward to working with new and returning students this year. We have lots of exciting events planned and many of our existing programs will continue. Futures lessons will continue with Year 10 students. We will also continue with our 'Find my Way',  'Yes We Can' and traditional work experience programs. As part of the Educational Pathways Program we will have loads of training and learning opportunities for students along with a lot of exciting programs offered by our local Regional Industry Education Partnership (RIEP) officer. We will also be part of the University of Newcastle Unisteps Program that will offer students from Year 7 - 12 to explore many programs at the university. We are also planning various Whitecard and First Aid training courses throughout the year. Other planned events include the university visits, career expos, career quest and industry visits.

Where Do I Find Careers and Transition Information?

All Careers and Transition information including notices, upcoming events, job vacancies and training opportunities can be found on Microsoft TEAMS in the Career Channel. Each student in Year 10, 11 and 12 has access to Microsoft TEAMS and we encourage students to check TEAMS at least twice a week to keep up to date. As a parent if you are curious about some of the opportunities available to your son/daugther, please ask them to show you the information on their TEAMS page. We also encourage students and parents to view the FGHS Careers Website which contains a wealth of information.

Congratulations!

White Card Training

White Cards (or general construction induction card) are required for workers who want to carry out construction work. People who need a White Card include site managers, supervisors, surveyors, labourers and tradespeople, people who access operational construction zones (unaccompanied or not directly supervised by an inducted person) and workers whose employment causes them to routinely enter operational construction zones.

Our next White Card Training Day will be held on Tuesday May 15, 2024. Students must be 14 years or older and the cost is $100. Permission notes are available from the CAT Team.
