Support Faculty

“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out” – Robert Collier

Welcome Back to 2024!

The Support Faculty warmly welcome our new students, families and carers; as well as those who are returning to Francis Greenway High School for yet another exciting year! Things are already shaping up to be another eventful Term, but as a faculty, we are all proud of how our new students have settled in, and those who have stepped up to become role-models for our younger and newer peers - well done everyone!!

It's also great to see some great engagement from our classes this early on in the year!!

2024 Support Staff

The FGHS Support Unit are fortunate to have gained three new teaching staff this year - please join us in welcoming Miss Middleby, Ms Rose and Miss Field. These three wonderful staff are not unfamiliar faces, having worked around the school for some time now, but we are lucky to have the expertise that they bring forth to the faculty.

What's Been Happening So Far?

S6 Science/Geography

S6 have been learning about Natural Disasters in a cross-curricular Science/Geography unit. So far, they have been learning about earthquakes. During Week 4, the class experimented with making their own versions of a Seismograph to measure the magnitude of an earthquake. It proved to be very challenging, but fun!

Gardening with Craig

Every Thursday, students from S2 and S9 take turns in working with the wonderful Craig Manhood on their respective class projects; the vegetable garden, and the Japanese Garden - both of which have been ongoing for over a year now. The students enjoy working with Craig to build upon their construction and gardening skills. We are also super proud of the initiative and teamwork skills that the students demonstrate in these lessons!

The Support Unit wishes everyone a great term! Stay tuned for more fun up-and-coming events!
