Xavier C - Prep A

Xavier is to be commended on his efforts in Reading and Writing this Semester. He approaches his learning with a positive attitude and is eager to learn new things. Xavier is persistent when reading, practising different strategies to solve unfamiliar words. When writing, Xavier works carefully to write letters for the sounds he hears. Keep up the wonderful work, Xavier!

Maxwell W - 1A

Maxwell is to be commended on his efforts in literacy this year. Despite being away from the classroom for an extended period of time, Maxwell continued to challenge himself, particularly in his writing. He has improved his letter spacing and formation, as well as his use of lowercase letters. Throughout the year he has grown as a writer by including a clear writer’s voice and using excellent vocabulary. Maxwell is also a passionate reader and has worked diligently towards improving his fluency and expression whilst reading. Fabulous work Max!

Poppy L - 2C

Poppy has worked hard over the year to develop and strengthen her skills as a writer. She is to be congratulated for using her growth mindset and applying herself to all writing tasks. This was shown when she created a wonderful persuasive piece on why everyone should come to EPS, using the Green Zone as an example to support one of her reasons to convince her audience.

Lennox C - 3/4A

‘Wellbeing influences everything you do, how you learn and how you act’.

This quote from a discussion about planning a persuasive text, kicked off a productive and efficient writing cycle from Lennox. Since then, he has been a brilliant Researcher and Thinker as he has carefully planned his writing. Brilliant work Lennox, I can’t wait to read the finished product.

Evan N - 3/4A

Gemma C - 5/6A

During writing sessions, Gemma absorbs any new learning with vigour and delights in exploring possibilities

She responds positively to feedback from her peers and teacher and thrives on challenging herself to improve her writing pieces. Revealing depth and inventiveness, her figurative language continues to engage and impress.

Marlo B - 6B

Marlo set himself a personal learning goal at the start of Semester 2 to improve his writing. Marlo has worked extremely hard to further his writing abilities by asking questions, trying new things, and being unafraid to learn from mistakes. Marlo’s dedication in class has seen him focused and determined to reach his goal - well done Marlo, you should be very proud of yourself and your hard work!

Maths

Luca M - Prep B

Luca has shown perseverance and determination this term during our Maths Workshops. He has put lots of effort into his work, practising to accurately record the number, collection and word. Luca takes on feedback from Miss Feldtmann and self corrects to make sure that he is doing his best work.

Ty H - 1B

Ty is to be commended on his dedication to his learning during maths workshops. He is consistently looking for ways to extend on and demonstrate his understanding. Recently Ty has excelled in developing his mathematical language, particularly around the concepts of chance and also location where he used familiar landmarks and directional language to give directions.

Felix B- 2A

For demonstrating his strong understanding during our investigation into fractions. This term, he has worked hard to expand upon his previous knowledge and extend himself. He has shown an impressive grasp of the equivalence of various fractions and has stretched his knowledge of fractions to be able to identify and work with eighths.

Rachel G - 3A

I am so proud of Rachel and her progress this term in Maths. She is

such a driven and passionate student, always trying her best to improve. She has developed her understanding of measurement and geometry; improved her knowledge of probability as well as her application of number and algebra to problem solving. Well done Rachel - you have been a superstar this term and this year in 3A!

Alannah W - 4B

Throughout this term, Alannah has approached Maths with enthusiasm and determination. When covering the unit of Fractions, she used her toolkit to support her learning and even offered guidance to those around her while completing learning tasks. She is to be commended for the amazing personal and academic growth she has achieved throughout Term 4. Keep up the great work Alannah!

Charlie M - 5B

Charlie enthusiastically engages with various mathematical concepts, demonstrating a keen curiosity and unwavering dedication, especially when tackling real-world multiplication and division problems. Beyond applying foundational mathematical proficiencies such as Understanding and Problem Solving, Charlie impressively exhibits a strong sense of Reasoning.

Matilda T - Prep B

Matilda shows genuine curiosity by asking questions and sharing her wonderings about the world around her. She is curious about learning and always asking “why?” to find out answers and build her understanding of the world around her. Matilda takes charge of her learning by putting in effort and showing resilience.

Orlando R - 1B

Orlando has shown a great deal of curiosity this semester by enthusiastically sharing his thinking and wonderings to the class and continuously making connections to all learning areas.

As well as asking questions to better understand the world around us, Orlando is often adds curiosities and inspiration to his writers notebook. I look forward to seeing what you create with these Orlando!

Cora H - 2A

This term, Cora has demonstrated that she is a curious learner through her thoughts and wonderings as a part of our big question “What is it made of and why?”. During our tuning-in phase, Cora put a lot of thought into the materials she selected for her group's boat, and she showed a great understanding of the importance of reducing waste and recycling, sharing her ideas with the class. Well done Cora!

Marlo H - 3/4A

For doing an amazing job within his group with the huge task of collaborating with planning, filming and editing a stop motion film. Who would have thought we could link trees, pigs and the school yard to create a message about “how we can change a rule”.

Hugo J - 4A

During this term’s stop motion productions in STEAM, this student was a committed and collaborative team member during every single session. This dedication and active engagement during learning meant that they were able to take their skills home to teach others how to create their own claymation movies! From the moment he joined our school, Hugo has enthusiastically embraced all opportunities on offer.

Felix R - 5A

Felix is constantly thinking, questioning and wondering. He is never afraid to ask clarifying questions of his teachers or peers and this attitude ensures Felix gets the most out of his learning. Felix also uses his curious mind to build his emotional intelligence. He is an extremely thoughtful student who has a great awareness of others.

Keep being curious Felix. You are a more worldly, confident and friendly person because of it.

Angus O - 6B

Angus not only seeks out new learning opportunities, but responds with resilience and perseverance when faced with challenges. Across all subject areas, Angus dives deep into a topic to expand his knowledge. He then takes this learning home, where he continues to explore and develop his thinking. It’s this determination and growth mindset that makes Angus a positive role model for his peers. Great job Angus!

This has been particularly evident recently in her quest to ‘bump up’ her writing skills by including specific word choice, complex sentences and a range of striking figurative language. Throughout the year, Ebony has consistently demonstrated Responsibility by coming to school ready to learn. As a responsible and dedicated member of 2B, Rafael comes to class every day ready to learn. He takes great pride and care in his work. He is always actively listening to his peers and teachers.
