Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.

May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

Wonderful Walk-a-thon!

With wonderful weather, creative costumes, smiling students and fun-loving families, the walk-a-thon was a sensational success! A big thank you to all of our families for supporting this event by providing costumes for students and sponsoring our walkers and also coming along to cheer the crowds. This event has truly filled our buckets with community presence, students connecting across the school and raised money for much-needed resources at our school.

Fabulous Fete

The stalls were plentiful and the crowds were generating great excitement across our school this afternoon. It takes great commitment from all stakeholders to ensure the success of such an enormous event, such as a school fete. I would like to acknowledge the hard work of our Communications Committee, led by Mrs Hay and to all of our staff, students and school community for your support in making this event come to life and being the successful event that it has been.

Save the dates

As we approach the end of term, we look forward to some very special events to share with our community...

Presentation Afternoon - December 14

Transition

We are very proud to offer a comprehensive transition program involving Kindergarten to School, within school and Year 6 to Year 7, with particular focus on Mount Rowan Secondary College. Careful consideration is taken into account in placing students for 2024, as well as tailoring transition support where needed.

National Transition Day for Government schools will take place on Tuesday December 12.

Enjoy the rest of the week,

Kylie Nissen.
