Principal's Message

Dear Families,

A HUGE hello to all our families and friends. The past fortnight has been hugely successful and full of fun, laughter and learning for our students at Kismet Park Primary School. I am pleased to share with our community that our gorgeous students continue to focus on being kind, curious and caring. They are well supported by the adults in our community, and I thank all our families, staff and friends for working together to ensure our students receive the best possible care and education.

Mission, Vision and Values UPDATE:

In 2022 our school went through our four-year review. This review involved the looking back at all our data sets, curriculum documentation and practices, policies and procedures. It also gave our school community an opportunity to reflect on our Mission, Vision and Values. We sent out surveys to all in our community for input regarding our school’s mission, vision and values. Thank – you to all our families who contributed to refining our school’s vision and values. I have copied below our Kismet Park Primary School’s Mission, Vision, and Values for our school moving forward.

OUR MISSIONBuilding the Foundations for Success and Happiness.

OUR VISION: Our vision is to ignite a passion for learning in our students and equip them with the skills and mindset to thrive and achieve excellence.

OUR VALUES:

  • Resilience – Is the ability to recover from setbacks or disappointments.
  • Integrity – Is being truthful and doing the right thing even when it is hard, or no one is looking.
  • Courage – Is the ability to have a go and stand up for what you know is right – even when you are afraid, or others don’t stand with you.
  • Kindness – Is the ability to be caring, friendly, generous, and compassionate towards others.

Camp – Year 4:

Our year 4 campers thoroughly enjoyed their time at Camp Wilkin. It was lovely for me to be part of this experience with our students. I felt very fortunate to have been able to make connections with children in a different environment.

Fifty-two students attended the camp with seven adults, six staff members and one parent. Our year 4 students enjoyed the beautiful weather and activities in well-designed child friendly environment. Students were able to get close to natural wildlife and experience the bush and the beach.

A HUGE thank you to all our teachers and support staff who attended the camp. Thank you to Mrs. O’Sullivan, Mr. Warren, Mrs. Hermelin, Mrs. Hooper, Mr. Corcoran. Thank you to our parent volunteer Lucy Stone.

Robotics Program (Lego League Tournament) – UPDATE

Their first round was challenging however the two rounds after went very well. Our students received a trophy and a certificate for Rising All Stars. We have now completed our transition program for our foundation/prep students. I spent some time with our 2024 foundation students in classes yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed connecting with our youngest members of our school community.

Our Foundation/Prep teachers for the 2024 school year are Brenna Wohlers, Amy Bonnici and Felicity Dobson.

Please note that we will continue to accept enrolments.  If you have a child in pre-school or a child that is turning 5 before 30th April, 2023 please phone our office for an enrolment form and an appointment with me so that I can meet with you and your child.
