James Morrison Music Workshop

St Xavier's were very lucky to be invited to participate in a workshop with James Morrison on Wednesday 22nd November.

We had twenty five students who attended this event.

James Morrison spends a huge amount of his spare time committed to holding masterclasses and workshops for School aged students, to inspire and share his knowledge and experiences with upcoming musicians and to keep the joy of playing an instrument alive, as well he talks about the importance of practicing the scales, sitting the music exams, playing a solo for the first time, exploring different genres of music, keeping focused on the bigger picture of possibilities, and to respect the process along the way. 

These are the same values the Gunnedah Shire Band have had for many years, offering music lessons in our School based programs and after School at the Band Hall at no cost to the student, including the loan of a brass instrument to practice at home with.
