Principals Message

Dear parents and carers,

Dear parents and carers,

A few months ago you were asked to take part in an anonymous survey to assist us with school improvement and to also share your positive comments. The following information explains the set up of the survey.

Thank you to those who were able to complete the survey. We take your feedback seriously and endeavor to align any major trends with our Annual Improvement Plan for the following year. As you can see by the following table we scored green in all areas. This is a fantastic response and is very encouraging for us. We will continue to strive to create literate and numerate students for a hope filled future.

The Schools Advisory Council met on Wednesday night. It was the Annual General meeting and we are thrilled to announce the return of Lisa Berges to the chairperson role and Jeni Muller to the secretary role. Other members include myself, Gemma Bunner, Megan Ellbourn, Georgie Rothwell and Father Abmar. We hope to attract two new members in the new year.

We farewelled two members as they retire from the SAC as their last children leave SXG at the end of this year. Emma Brown has served us in an advisory role for two years. Emma has also been a very active member of the P&F, helping out at many school events, working in the canteen and just being a supportive parent. We presented Emma with a gift to show our appreciation.

Jon Renton has been part of the School Board in the past and has been part of the SAC. The total number of years John has served our school community is NINETEEN! Jon has a very strong connection to SXG. He attended school here and last night shared a few stories from the old days. Jon has a wealth of knowledge regarding sourcing different trades to carry out work, he understands many of the family connections in Gunnedah and has a passionate interest in creating a vibrant school community. Jon has been an outstanding member of our community and we have been very fortunate to have him on board for so long.
