Junior School News

What's happening in Years 7, 8 and 9.

“Dear Parents and Guardians,

As the year draws to a close, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude as I reflect on the remarkable journey we have shared at Glenroy College. This newsletter is a celebration of our collective achievements and a glimpse into the bright future that awaits us.

A Year of Growth and Achievement

Our students have demonstrated exceptional growth and achievement throughout the year. Their dedication to academic excellence has been evident in every classroom, project, and assessment. The Glenroy Gold Card initiative has been a resounding success, recognising and rewarding students for their hard work and commitment. These Gold Card holders enjoyed various excursions, including educational trips and adventure activities, which not only enriched their learning experience but also provided them with well-deserved fun and relaxation.

Memorable Excursions and Experiences

The excursions this year have been a highlight for many. From the historical journey to Puffing Billy to the exhilarating challenges at Adventure Treetop, our students have had the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow outside the traditional classroom setting. These experiences have not only been educational but also instrumental in fostering teamwork, resilience, and a sense of community among our students.

End of Year Activities Day at Luna Park

The end of year activities day at Luna Park was a spectacular event that brought together students and teachers in a celebration of our year's successes. The joy and laughter shared on this day were a testament to the strong, supportive community we have built at Glenroy College. It was a day filled with fun, excitement, and memorable moments that epitomised the spirit of our school.

Looking Ahead to an Even Brighter Future

As we look forward to the next academic year, I am excited to share that we have many more innovative programmes and initiatives planned. Our commitment to providing a holistic and enriching education experience remains steadfast. We will continue to focus on academic excellence, personal growth, and community engagement, ensuring that every student at Glenroy College has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.

Join Us in Our Journey Forward

Glenroy College is more than just a school; it is a community where dreams are nurtured, and futures are shaped. We invite you to continue being an active part of our journey, as we strive to make the next year even more successful and rewarding. Together, we will continue to create an environment where every student can achieve their best and prepare for a bright and promising future.

Glenroy Junior school out and about

On the 10th of November, a group of Glenroy Literacy and Numeracy support students went on an excursion to celebrate all of the hard work and success they have achieved this year. It was also an opportunity to go out into the community and experience all that it has to offer.  The students experienced taking public transport, visiting a library in Broadmeadows and going to Hoyts to watch a movie. To finish off the day, they had a meal from El Jannah lunch at school.

This year, some year 9 students visited RMIT to see what studying health and biomedicine might be like. They learnt how to perform X-rays, analysed lung tissue and cough specimens and did blood group testing.

Another group of Year 9 students went bush for the day! As part of year 9 projects, students have travelled to Hanging Rock for a day of bushwalking and being in nature. They enjoyed exploring the rocks, testing their limits, taking in great views and being with friends.
