Deputy Principal, Teaching and Learning

 - Mrs Susan Bradbeer

Thank you for supporting our students during Exam week. It is always good to get to the end of the week and celebrate the learning that has happened this year.

Ahead of Week 9, Step-Up Week I want to bring your attention to the importance of learning from feedback. This year we have moved to Continuous Reporting, so students, parents and guardians have had access to live feedback on a range of assessment tasks in each subject. Some students have been in the habit of responding to teacher feedback and writing their own. This year we have dedicated a good part of our first day of Step-Up to provide our students with feedback about their exam and offer some next steps to further improve. The final session on Monday 27th November will provide students with an introduction to their new courses for 2024 and students will receive their timetable. In addition, we welcome our new students to Step-Up.

Students in Emerge, years 10-12 will hear from Head of Senior Years Miss Reiher and Head of VCE Mrs Rebekah Bonnett and. Students in Explore, years 8-9 will work with Head of Middle Years Mr Ben Hawthorne and Head of Year 9 Experience Mrs Emily Hausler.

Step-Up is an integral part of setting expectations for learning. Students will be expected to complete in class and at home work this week and there will be holiday homework set. Students in VCE will need to pay careful attention to the homework requirements and ensure that all work is complete so that they can start 2024 with a strong foundation.
