Dear Staff,
I hope you found the recent Professional Practice Day to be purposeful, and that you came away having learned something new and contributed to the discussions alongside your colleagues, leaders, and friends. 2025 class lists are very much well underway, and thanks to your valuable feedback, they will continue to be refined.
Important Updates & Reminders:
Aussie Farms Incursion
We recently had a fantastic incursion with Aussie Farms, where students interacted with a variety of farm animals including goats, lamb, chickens, and rabbits. This hands-on experience was a great opportunity for students to learn about farm life, animal care, and their role in the ecosystem. Thanks to everyone who supported the incursion and helped make it a memorable experience for the students!
Middle School Awards (Week 9)
As we approach Week 9, it’s time to start thinking about students who have shown significant growth this year. Whether it’s in academic achievements or social-emotional skills, let’s begin planning for the upcoming Middle School Awards. Please see the recent email for more details, and ensure your award descriptions are submitted in time.
Year 6 Graduation (12th December)
Graduation notes and RSVP’s have been sent home, along with invitations created by students. Please ensure all returned notes are submitted to me so that I can compile the RSVPs and food orders in one central location. A huge thank you to everyone who has volunteered so far! We’ll share more information on roles and responsibilities shortly, but let’s work together to make this a night to remember for our Year 6 students and their families. The event will take place in the Yaluk building, with dinner starting at 5:30 pm and additional guests arriving at 6:00 pm. Please note that although students are graduating, they may remain in the Middle Sub School. Their transition to Secondary will occur in the coming years.
Dual Enrolments
SSG meetings are a great time for parents to discuss the possibility of a dual enrolment at a mainstream school. If families are interested in exploring this option, please encourage them to raise it during their SSG meetings. Classroom teachers may be able to provide insights into the feasibility of dual enrolments and connect families with our Transition Coordinator, who can offer support.
Transition to 2025 Classrooms (Week 11)
As we prepare for the 2025 classroom transition in Week 11, please consider how best to support students in feeling confident and prepared as they meet their new classmates and teachers. The 2025 class lists will be shared to parents in Week 9, so please look out for this.
Classroom Team Meetings
A reminder that Classroom Team Meetings are focused on Student Profiles, which need to be uploaded to Xuno. This is the first time we are doing this, so if you need any assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. A video showing how to upload profiles was sent out last week, but if you need it resent, just let me know!
PDP Reviews
Please take some time to review your PDP goals from Term 1, as we will be conducting PDP reviews in the coming weeks. This is a great opportunity to reflect on your progress and achievements aligned with your personal goals for the year.
Key Dates & Events:
• SSG Meetings (Weeks 7-9): Please prepare by gathering relevant data, reviewing goals, and setting up meeting times with parents once slips are received. These meetings are crucial for reviewing student progress and planning support for the end of the year.
• Middle School Awards (Week 9): As mentioned, it’s time to nominate students for the Middle School Awards, recognizing growth in both academic and social-emotional domains. Details will be provided soon, so please mark your calendars.
• Year 6 Graduation (12th December): As we gear up for the Year 6 Graduation, be sure to submit your RSVPs and food orders. The event will take place in the Yaluk building with dinner starting at 5:30 pm and guests arriving at 6:00 pm.
Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. Let’s continue making Term 4 an exciting and rewarding experience for our students!
Warm regards,
Sarah Hill
