OH& S Meetings

The OH&S Committee meets twice per term. The composition includes the elected HSR and Deputy HSR, representatives from each sub-school, a rep from Admin/Therapy, the Principal, Assistant Principals and the OH&S Manager Nominee.

Staff Safety Reminder: Organizing and Securing Equipment

To maintain a safe and efficient workspace, please keep areas organized and secure. 

Key reminders:

  • Secure Items: Ensure all equipment and materials are stored in cupboards. Unsecured items can be hazardous, especially if accessible to students.
  • Organized Storage: Keep cupboards neat to reduce risks and make items easily accessible.
  • Avoid Unattended Items: Don’t leave equipment unattended; store or secure items if stepping away.
  • Minimize Clutter: Tidy up after use to keep the environment safe and orderly.
  • Risk Awareness: Identify potential hazards in workspaces and playgrounds and take steps to address them.

Staff Recommendations:

Regularly check storage for unsecured items.Report risks or concerns immediately.Keep work areas clutter-free.Thank you for helping maintain a safe environment!

 

I have placed hardcopies of the eduSafe Plus incident notification template and the eduSafe Plus hazard notification template in your pigeon holes. These are available for CRTs, visitors or volunteers to complete when they are reporting an incident or hazard.

 

First aid bum bags 

FIRST AID

Our First Aid Treatment Room (opposite the admin office) houses the whole school's supplies, therefore, it is locked.

If you have students coming to the first aid room, we have a green treatment kit available for access.

OHS COMMITTEE

The elected members of the OHS committee can accrue Time in Lieu for the meetings and will be financially acquitted for the TIL.

We encourage all staff members to actively participate in reporting any safety concerns they may come across. Your vigilance and proactive approach play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for us all.

Remember, safety is a team effort, and together, we can create an environment where everyone feels secure and protected.
