Le Francais

Bonjour tout le monde!

This is what has been happening in the French classroom:

Foundation students have been learning the "comptine" "Un elephant qui se balancait..." to add more vocabulary to the theme of "Big and Small" and continued honing their memory and action skills with the songs of "Petit escargot" and "L'Araignée Gipsy".

Grade 1 and 2 have  added a new verse to their song and are learning French words like "pays", "capitale", "la Tour Eiffel". They are working on recording their singing of the song entitled "Survolons les plus beaux pays" by Titounis.

They learned about a special dish called"escargots à l'ail" and also learned that they should NOT eat any of these from the garden but ONLY in expensive French restaurants !

Grade 3 and 4 have been learning about "les Pays en Europe" and other "pays du monde".

They have been looking at the similarities of spelling and listening out for the differences of sounds and pronunciation between English and French.

Grade 5 and 6 have been looking at common everyday food French vocabulary and have also embarked on looking at iconic dishes that have catapulted French cuisine into the stratosphere of world renowned cuisine, the kind of cuisine that accompanies special events and creates long lasting memories. Students will be researching dishes like "ratatouille", "canard a l'orange", "bouillabaisse", "escargots", "cuisses de grenouille" and many more!
