Unit 4 Outdoor Environmental Studies – Mt Buller Excursion

On the 8th of August, our Unit 4 Outdoor Environmental Studies students had the opportunity to experience the alpine environment at its very best during our excursion to Mt Buller. With perfect weather conditions and clear skies, the mountain provided the ideal backdrop for exploring both the recreational and environmental aspects of alpine regions. 

Students embraced the challenge of skiing, demonstrating excellent skill development, persistence, and teamwork on the slopes. This excursion was a perfect opportunity to apply their learning about outdoor environments in a practical context, while also enjoying the recreational opportunities with their peers.  

The day was filled with energy, enthusiasm, and plenty of memorable moments. From the thrill of the first runs and stumbles to the satisfaction of refining technique throughout the day, the group displayed a commendable mix of determination and joy. Their behaviour, cooperation, and willingness to support one another truly reflected the values of our school community. 

A sincere thank you to our students for their positive attitude and commitment, and to their families for their ongoing support of our Outdoor Environmental Studies program. Excursions such as this are only possible with your encouragement, and it was a pleasure to see our young people making the most of such a rich learning opportunity. 

We look forward to more adventures ahead as our students continue to explore and connect with the natural environments that shape our understanding of sustainability and recreation.
