Miss Jaclyn is always busy keeping abreast of our socials and sharing the terrific things happening at our school.
What an amazing day we had at the St Joseph's School Fete! A massive thank you to Olivia Triandos for her exceptional coordination and leadership in bringing the event together. We are so grateful to our wonderful school community for your generosity, time, and effort in running stalls and assisting throughout the day—your support made all the difference.
Special thanks also goes to Kathryn in the office, whose incredible work behind the scenes in the lead-up to the event ensured everything ran smoothly. Your dedication does not go unnoticed!
Despite the HEAT... our fete raised a whopping $11,500. This money will go towards the resurfacing of the undercroft and basketball court.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
Last Wednesday, we held our Annual Review Meeting, marking another year of collaboration and growth within our school community.
This year, we bid farewell to two dedicated members of our School Advisory Council (SAC), Madeleine Sukkar and Fatima Chaudhry. Madeleine has been a valued member for three years and played a pivotal role in coordinating and appointing our new Out of School Hours Care providers, Leapkids. Fatima, who has served on the SAC for 12 months and volunteered to take on the role of Deputy Chair. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to both Madeleine and Fatima for their dedication and service to our school.
I am delighted to welcome two new members to the SAC. Tim Hargreaves (Clara in Prep) and Michaela Woolf (Hudson in Grade 2 and Mila and Scarlett in Prep), have joined the team. We are confident that their perspectives and contributions will enrich the SAC and I thank them for their willingness to volunteer their time to support our school community.
A special note of thanks goes to our Chair, Raffaela Arico, for her exceptional leadership and wise counsel throughout the year. Raffaela’s guidance has been instrumental, and I look forward to continuing our work together in 2025 as we further strengthen the SAC and our shared vision for the school.
Thank you all for your support, dedication, and commitment to our vibrant school community.
I have attached the Chair's Report and Principal's Report for your perusal.
Last week we welcomed our new preps! Next year we have 34 preps, so we will have two classes, one of 17 and one of 17. The children settled in beautifully and had a fabulous three days.
On Friday they met their new 'Buddies' - an event which our grade four students have been looking forward to from day 1 this year!! Each and every grade four student made us proud - they were so caring and attentive to their 'Little Buddy' and are so very excited about welcoming them again next year.
I’m thrilled to announce that some of our talented students will be performing alongside The Elvis Big Band this Saturday, November 30th, at the Northcote Theatre! This is a wonderful opportunity for St Joseph’s to showcase its talent and shine within our local community. If you'd like to be part of this exciting event, tickets are available for purchase here. Don’t miss out!
Our final 'Friday' Market will be held this term on WEDNESDAY December 11. Our Preppies will be hosting the Market this term and there will be lots of Christmas themed gifts to purchase. We will also have a Christmas Gifts Stall - thank you so much to Jo Hadjistamatis for organising this... there will be gifts 'aplenty' to purchase.
Everyone is welcome to join us for our end-of-year Mass which will be held on Tuesday December 10 at 9:15am. During this Mass, we will be farewelling families leaving our community, excluding the grade six graduating class families, who will be recognized at the Graduation Mass on Friday, December 13.
Each year the Parish hosts a special Christmas Day Mass on Christmas Eve and we are asking for parents (or older teenage siblings) to volunteer to assist on the evening. This involves helping with the activity in which children dress as characters from the Nativity scene and process into the church during the Gospel. There is normally one practise session in the week before Christmas, in the Church. All the costumes etc are provided by the school. If you are able to assist with this please let me know. Thank you in advance!
