Year 1 Perform for Tamworth Community Aged Care

It was such a wonderful opportunity to invite some residents from Tamworth Community Aged Care to be part of a special performance from our Year 1 students. The residents were so overcome with happiness and are so excited about the next visit. The children happily engaged around the differences in school and growing up from then to now.

Big thanks to our Year 1 Teachers for their outstanding organisation for this wonderful event that connects us to our community.

Remembrance Day

Attending Remembrance Day ceremonies is a powerful way to honour the sacrifices made by service members throughout history. These ceremonies offer a moment to pause, reflect, and acknowledge the bravery and dedication of those who served and continue to serve. By attending, we show respect not only for those who gave their lives, but also for the values of freedom, peace and unity they fought to protect. It's a collective act of gratitude, keeping their memories alive in our hearts and passing on the importance of their sacrifices to future generations. This year all of our students were engaged in a service for Remembrance Day. I also had the pleasure of accompanying our Captains to the service at the Town Hall.

Student Learning Walks

Student learning walks and talks in schools are valuable for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and engagement in the learning process. These activities give students the chance to observe different classroom environments, see various teaching methods in action, and learn from peers, promoting a sense of responsibility and ownership in their education. For educators, learning walks provide firsthand insights into what students are experiencing and finding engaging, helping teachers tailor their approaches based on real-time feedback. By participating in walks and talks, students and teachers together create a collaborative learning community, encouraging reflection, open communication, and a shared commitment to achieving educational goals.  Thanks to Mr Flynn and Mrs Sheridan for leading this great work across our school.

Until next week,

Keep smiling,
