Message from the Principal

Dear Families,

As the year is coming to a close, we have much to be grateful for.

We have had a year that has seen many academic and sporting achievements for our students, the arrival of Fr Jake and Fr Henry to our community,  the installation of our Junior playground, and amazing fundraising efforts from our parent community.

We have come together to celebrate through liturgy and prayer, to embrace our diversity, and to have fun.

Thank you to everyone who makes these events happen and to those who attend.

 We are truly blessed.

This is also the time of the year when we say goodbye to some staff.  While a little sad, it is also with thanks and best wishes that we wish them well.

Jo O'Connell has been part of the St Therese's community for 28 years, holding many different roles during this time, including Deputy Principal, Literacy Leader, and ICT Leader.  Jo is retiring from teaching and will enjoy a well-deserved rest.

Etty Lerk has taught Indonesian at St Therese's for  21 years.  Etty has decided to reduce her work commitment to spend more time with family and will finish at St. Therese's at the end of this year.  Thank you for all you have done for our community, including the fantastic home cooking you spoil us with.

Nicole Ellis (12 months leave) has worked at St Therese's for  21 years and is a loved and respected member of our school community.  Nicole is taking 12 months' leave and moving to Gippsland for a sea/tree change.  We wish Nicole all the best for her 12-month adventure.

Julie  Chaplin is returning to CESL to support the move to centralised service across the Diocese. We are so grateful for the two years Julie has been with us.  She has implemented processes and procedures that have transformed the efficiency of our Administration office.

Mary Smith has been a Learning Support Office at  St Therese's for 13 years, supporting children with their learning and being the driving force behind 'The Patch'.  Mary is now enjoying retirement and her own garden.  Thank you for all you have done for our community.

Leanne Bodycoat is a Learning Support Officer at St Therese's for many years, working in classrooms and supporting both our teachers and students.   Leanne is returning home to Perth to be closer to family.  We wish her all the very best in this next stage.

Will Edwards, Lily Cullen, and Maggie Bourke have worked in a classroom support role.  Will commences his teaching career at St Francis of the Fields. Lily has gained her permission to teach and is moving home to Shepparton, and Maggie is off to Uni in Melbourne.  We wish them every success and know that the children they have worked with have benefitted from their time and energy.

It is a privilege to lead this beautiful school community, one that I am truly grateful for.  Thank you for your continued support this year and for the trust you have placed in us.

I wish you all a Holy and Happy Christmas period and a safe, relaxing, and fun holiday with your loved ones.
