Primary Indonesian - Congratulations to Elouise!

It was an honour to present to Year 5 student, Elouise Winstone, with her 1st place prize in the Year 5/6 division of the statewide Indonesian Competition. Elouise created a beautifully illustrated comic-strip on the theme 'Sekolah Saya' (My School). In addition to knowing her Indonesian phrases well, her work displays talent and diligence.

Year 4 and 5 students have enjoyed Indonesian bingo games this term, featuring numbers, colours, animals and prepositions in increasingly complex phrases. This has proved an effective way to get even the shyest or newest students to become vocal and confident with their spoken Bahasa!

Year 3 News

At the end of last term our Year 3 class went on an awesome overnight camp at The Lea with Mrs King, Mr Rich, and Miss Scott. We had an amazing time building cubbies, toasting marshmallows over the campfire, learning about bush tucker and archery, going on long hikes together and night games.

This term, while Mrs King has been on a mission trip in Africa, we have learnt about many interesting things including the classification of animals into vertebrate and invertebrate groups in our Unit of Inquiry, different styles of poetry, stories by Australian authors and investigated Probability in Maths.

Here are a few of our limericks and 'I remember' poems:
