Testing, Testing and more Testing!

Over the past 3 weeks we have all been working very hard to show our progress over the course of the year. Assessment in reading, writing, spelling, handwriting, number, measurement and statistics has been carried out in various ways. Students have been able to demonstrate their learning and are very proud of their efforts.

Here is some of the first day of school writing compared to the writing students can write on their own now. Students were asked to write a story about a magic door:

Special Lunch day

We loved having our special lunches of a hot dog, donut and juice drink. We sat in the sunny courtyard to eat our lunch.

Remembrance Day

With our Grade 5/6 Buddies we made a poppy and coloured in a wreath. We had a whole school assembly at 11.00. We listened to information about why we have this important day.

Prep Transition for 2025

For two mornings so far, we have had the new students for Prep in 2025 visit us and join our class for our ‘Learning Through Play’ session. We also read the book ‘The Pigeon HAS to go to School’ and made a collage pigeon with the new Preps!  We talked about the things we love about going to school.

Computer Lab

Each week we have used the computers in the computer lab. Students have learnt to log on and navigate to a variety of programs like Word, Targeting Maths, Sunshine Online (Reading) and Mathletics. We can type sentences and are learning to save the document into a folder on the desktop.
