Lest we Forget

Remembrance Day - Monday, 11th November

On Monday our school commemorated Remembrance Day with our school leaders attending the service led by the Crib Point RSL. Jedd, Ashleigh, Guy and Brodie accompanied by Ms Bacon and Jemima represented our school and read a Remembrance Day poem at this service. At school we held an assembly to pay respect and pause for one minute to remember the service and sacrifice of our veterans and current serving personnel.

School Wide Positive Behaviour

It is with great excitement that I inform you that we will be implementing the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS)  Initiative in 2025. What is this, I hear you ask!

SWPBS is an evidence-based school improvement approach that creates a positive and supportive learning environment for all students. This frame work will assist us to improve the social, emotional, behaviours and academic outcomes for our children. More information will be provided early in Term 2025.

MOVING DAY

We need your help!

On Monday, November 25th we will be moving furniture and resources, including our library into their new homes. This process will take the whole day. Tasks will include shifting classroom furniture, moving library books, relocating music and science equipment into our new Flexible Learning Space (FLS) and into the BER. We would like your assistance at any time during the day. If you have any availability between 8.30 am - 5 pm we would be very appreciative. Please contact the school office to let us know if you can help.  Thank you!

Yarning Circle Project commences.

Next week marks the instalment of our Yarning circle. Contractors will be onsite to build this 'meeting place' under the red shade sails near the junior playground. This project will enhance our new landscaping installed as part of the capital works project and provide additional shaded seating areas for our school community to enjoy. Below is a sneak peak of the yarning circle design.

RISK ASSESSMENTS

BPS staff ensure that risk management processes are integrated into all planning

and implementation activities for school events, incursions and in- school activities.

Each event is scrutinised by the Principal and Excursion team leader to ensure that all risks are assessed and managed by a risk management process in accordance with DET guidelines.

Risk is defined as  the effect (positive or negative) of uncertainty on objectives. Risk management is

  • the identification, analysis, assessment, and prioritisation of risks to the achievement of objectives
  • the coordinated allocation of resources to minimise, monitor, communicate and control risk likelihood and/or impact, or to maximise the realisation of opportunities, and
  • the coordination of activities to direct and control risks to the achievement of objectives.
