Celebration Day and Final Assembly

On October 24th, our Year 12 students participated in their Celebration Day – a day to enjoy with their peers and teachers as they looked back on 13 years of schooling. It was an early start, with students arriving at 7am to set up their pranks – lots of balloons, moving of furniture and Beyonce posters. Our students maintained a level of respect and excellence throughout this exciting day. Silly awards were handed out, goodbye videos were made and hundreds of photos were taken; all to make the memories of Year 12 last even longer.

We thank the families and friends who came along to the final assembly, where we heard from our College Captains and the students participated in one final roll call. Emotions were high as many came the realisation that this was it, and their lives were about to change from all that they have ever known.

We hope that this day was special for all of our Year 12 students.

Year 12 Exams

The exam period started with English on October 29th and finished with Japanese on November 20th. Nerves were high as the students embarked on the journey that they have been working towards, but as each exam went by we could see the relief washing over each student. We were so impressed with the quality level of revision and study that we saw each day at the College and want to commend each student for their hard work throughout the year.  Well done to all!

Valedictory

And just like that, the journey has come to an end!  On November 22nd, Year 12 students, families and friends gathered at the Karralyka Centre to celebrate the achievements of the 2024 Year 12 cohort. The evening was filled with reflections of the year, accomplishments celebrated through awards, and not one, but two power outages! The recognition of success in its many forms was so clearly shared by students, families and staff, as the night allowed everyone to celebrate and connect once more. The slideshow of students’ first high school photo, to their last, was a symbolic reflection of just how far each of them have come. We wish you success and happiness in your lives!

We thank our Captains – Amelia, Hayley,  Jolyon and Zak – for their final speeches. These were heartfelt, genuine and exemplified your leadership skills. You have done a marvellous job this year and we hope that the role was fulfilling.
