Ryan’s Rambling

Dear Families,

I hope this finds you all well. It has been a fantastic week this week at Dana Street, coinciding with the halfway point of the term.

The absolute highlight of this week (actually, this year!) was most definitely the Art Show. The entire evening was an absolute treat for even the most critical of Art connoisseurs.  Taking inspiration from a plethora of famous artists, our students showcased a range of incredible artefacts, demonstrating expert use of many different artistic mediums.

Thank you to the many members and extended members of our families for making the time to attend the event. There was a small group of very dedicated parents who volunteered their time to help set up and pack up the many displays. We thank each and every one of you for your support!

Finally, a very special thank you to our Art teacher, Dee, whose feet have not stopped moving over the last few weeks in preparation.

The Central Highlands Principal Forum was held this week, where principal colleagues convened from our 86 Central Highlands schools. During the day, the team reflected on the importance of solid, evidence informed practice in teaching and learning. After another year of effort from our staff, I feel that Dana Street is in a fantastic position with the many changes we have made to our teaching and learning across the last couple of years, which have supported the growth and development of our students.

I am hoping to be able to finalise our staffing plan for 2025 in the coming couple of weeks. We are still finalizing one more teaching position, which is taking a fraction longer than expected. As soon as this process is complete, I will inform you all.

Please remember that Monday is a student free day, when our staff will be busily working on Semester Reports.

Have a fantastic weekend 😊

Ryan
