Little Nancy Etticoat,
With a white petticoat,
And hair as red as rose,
She has no feet or hands,
The longer she stands,
The shorter she grows.
“But who is Nancy Etticoat?” Lilly asked her grandmother as they blew out the candle. We continue to engage in poems, verses, games, riddles and dances with rhymes and have enjoyed hearing and creating puppet stories as we near completion of our alphabet stories. We are enjoying stringing our own stories together through sounds, words, sentences and pictures and sharing our beautiful ideas and work.
Nin has been adding things and Prickles has been taking things from animals’ plates.
“As I sit and stir this sumptuous steaming stew I add 12 peas to the bubbling brew, as I sit and stir this sumptuous steaming stew, that makes 12 treats for you to chew.” Sings Nin.
“As I sit and stir this sumptuous steaming stew I take 6 peas from the bubbling brew, as I sit and stir this sumptuous steaming stew, that makes 6 treats for you to chew.” Sings Prickles.
“Stir it, stir it round and round, blow it, blow it fast without a sound, stir it, stir it round and round, tip toe back to the bubbling brew.” Sing all the animals.
