Year 11 VCE VM Students Build a Gaga Pit

On Monday, 11 November, our Year 11 VCE VM students rolled up their sleeves for a fantastic hands-on project, building gaga pits for our Year 7 students. 

The initiative, aimed at enhancing the school’s playground experience, gave the Year 11 students an opportunity to apply their skills while also giving back to the school community.

A gaga pit is a popular playground game, similar to dodgeball, played inside a large, enclosed octagonal space. The Year 11 students worked collaboratively to construct the pits, which will soon be used by the Year 7s during recess and lunch. This project not only contributed to improving the school’s outdoor spaces but also fostered a sense of teamwork, responsibility, and pride among the Year 11 students.

The effort and enthusiasm from the Year 11 group were impressive, and the new gaga pits are sure to become a favourite for the younger students. A big thank you to all involved for their hard work and commitment to making this initiative a success!
