Dear Parents and Carers

This is the final newsletter for 2025.

If I can be  totally honest I am not sure where the year has gone!!!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our community for your support during 2024.

It many ways it has been an exciting year  (concert, camps, discos, lunch time clubs, classroom activities)  but also a challenging year with change.

During this change I have been in awe of how our community has work together in  the best interest of our students.

I would like to thank the staff  for their dedication throughout the year. They have been amazing and have ensured the learning journey of every child has been differentiate to meet their needs.

The students are what brings us together as a community. I would like to thank them personally for making me feel welcome and for challenging themselves to be the best they can be everyday. I have enjoyed getting to know them during the past 6 months.

Finally thank you for  allowing me to be part of the OLGC  community since May.  It has been an absolute  pleasure working with each and everyone of  you.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year.

Thank you

I would like to thank the following staff members who are leaving OLGC at the end of this year.

Gianni

Gianni has spent the last two years at OLGC. He has been both classroom  and P.E teacher during this time. I would like to thank Gianni for his dedication and commitment to the students under his care. He has a great rapport with the students. We wish him all the best at St Kevin's

Carrie

Carrie commenced at OLGC  this year.  The Yr 5/6 students under her care have been very fortunate. She always has their interests at the forefront of her mind and encourages them to do their best in everything they do.  The running club will also miss her!!! We wish Carrie all the best at Korowa next year.

Annabelle

Annabelle joined us this term  when a position became available in  the Yr 3/4 area. She has quickly made an impact and built strong relationships with the children in her care. It is always difficult to step in 3/4 quarters of the way through the year but she has done an amazing job.  We wish Annabelle all the best at SPJ next year.

Don

Don also joined us during  the year when a position became available in Yr 1/2. His ability to build a rapport so quickly with the students is a credit to who he is. I thank Don for his commitment and I know both the parents and students  are appreciative of what he has bought to OLGC

Sophie ( LSO)

Sophie joined us as extra support during the year and has worked across numerous levels. We thank Sophie for her commitment to the students and supporting them with their needs.  We wish her all the best

Isabella

This is not really a goodbye but more of a best wishes for Isabella as she tries a "sunshine" change for 2025. I know our community will miss her bubbly personality but look forward to seeing her back in 2026.

Principal for the day

Yesterday Daniel and Asher had the opportunity to be Principal for the day.  They assisted me  at both schools and helped make some important decisions about carols tonight.  After all their hard work we then had a special lunch!!!!! I hope Daniel and Asher both enjoyed the experience

Condolences

Please keep in your prayers Mrs. Liana Celotto and her family with the passing of her sister last week. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.
