Meet our 2025 Art Captains
Welcome back to the art room and discovering all the magical artworks that your children create!
All students have started the year investigating what is art, who decides what it is, and how we make our own individual emotional connections to it. We discussed that art is usually the expression of ideas and emotions through a physical medium like painting, sculpture, film, dance or music.
It is totally subjective to each person’s opinion, what someone may love another person may hate, but art is how artists get you to think! To quote Cahaya from 5B “Art is actually really deep”, I agree Cahaya!
Congratulations to the four Year 6 students who were selected to be Art Captains for 2025. This role is vitally important in helping to run the Art program, these students may be responsible for putting up the displays you see in the main building, preparing materials for classes, cleaning and sorting equipment as well as many other duties.
“I enjoy helping others and putting my skills to good use to create artworks to inspire younger year levels.”
"I love doing Art as nobody can judge me or what I make. I’ve loved Art since I went to an Art exhibition and then I went to art school and have tried to learn every technique about printing, clay, watercolour and painting.”
“I really enjoy spending time creating art in the IPS art room. I am passionate about helping improve the art experience for other students, both future and present.”
“I am looking forward to helping to organise art activities, set up the art room, clean up or put up displays during recess or lunch. I will love to see everyone’s art pieces and help others out.”
