From the library…

Welcome back to another exciting year in the Ben Venue Library. I am so excited for what is to come. I would like to take this moment to thank Mrs Jennine Wilson and Mrs Andrea Boyce for their support in the library in 2024. Both the students and myself learnt so much through their guidance. It has been wonderful seeing so many students enthusiastic to start borrowing this year. Please refer to the below table if you are not aware of which day your child visits the library. 

Please support your child to be able to borrow books from the library by sending them in on their library day with a suitable library bag. Ben Venue has library bags available for purchase from the front office, however these are not mandatory. Any good quality material or plastic coated bag will be fine. A pillowcase is even a great option!  It is essential for the protection of the books inside, that library bags are not paper bags or bags with holes in them. 

As well as during your child's regular borrowing time, the library is also open Monday - Thursday before school and at lunchtimes. Whilst our mornings are usually for quiet reading, drawing and colouring and borrowing, lunchtimes offer a variety of activities.

What’s new in the library?

Later this term, Ben Venue students will receive a Scholastic Book Club brochure. This is an opportunity for students to purchase some of the latest childrens books whilst also supporting our school library. Did you know that every purchase you make on Book Club earns our school 15% of the order value in Scholastic Rewards? We use these to purchase more books and educational resources for the school. It all helps! Through your continued support of Scholastic Book Club in 2024, our library was able to purchase some great new resources lately. Amongst many other titles, some of our latest purchases include:
