It has been wonderful to welcome our new year 7 students and their families into the school this term. Our students have impressed us with how seamlessly they have begun their secondary school journey and how well they have settled into their new classes. A real highlight for the beginning of the year was meeting parents/carers at our annual Meet the Tutors night and hearing the success stories of the first few weeks of school.
Year 8 students have made a very positive start to the year, continuing the strong routines we put in place last year. It has been pleasing to see these students take on a leadership role in the Junior Learning Centre, ensuring the space is orderly and well utilised, setting a great example for our new students.
Year 9 students have settled well into their new home in E-Wing. Students have thrown themselves into the Connect program and their electives with enthusiasm and I have been really pleased see students taking a mature approach to the learning spaces.
It will be a busy run into the end of term with Year 7 and 9 students sitting NAPLAN in Week 7 and 8. Please refer to Compass communications for further information. Student Compass Schedules will show the scheduled NAPLAN testing. Year 7 Camp is also quickly approaching, with camp running Monday 31 March – Wednesday 2 April. We have a new destination, Bayview Adventure Camp, Grantville, and format this year, which will be exciting.
