Students in Ms Jackson's 'Pick N Mix' class baked delicious white chocolate and macadamia biscuits.

The biscuits filled the kitchen with a delightful aroma and made everyone's mouths water.

Aged Care Visit

February 10

This afternoon, the VM Unit 3/4 students visited Bolton Clarke Aged Care, Lilydale.

The visit was part of their unit on Social Awareness and Interpersonal Skills, where they had a wonderful opportunity to engage with the elderly residents.

Some highlights included speaking to Trudy, who is 104, and hearing about Bob's skydiving experience for his 90th birthday.

Staff Lunch

February 17

Our Year 12 VM students organised a delightful lunch for the staff.   The students prepared a variety of sandwiches, as well as refreshing smoothies that offered a vibrant burst of nutrition.

This initiative was closely related to their units on Social Awareness and Interpersonal Skills. It served as a meaningful way for them to express their gratitude for all the hard work the teachers do.

Sports Achievement

Congratulations to our Year 12 EIS Netball Superstar, Georgia Sands who recently played for VICTORIA in the Junior Indoor Netball Nationals.

Valentine's Day Display

This year, to celebrate love and Valentine's Day, Ms Hovanjec's Year 9 Textiles class worked collaboratively to make beautiful fabric flowers from a variety of recycled materials.

As a result, they transformed the recycled materials into stunning floral creations that served to decorate a large heart displayed prominently in the Arts Corridor.

Dogs & Cats Snuffle Balls

Year 9 students in Ms Hovanjec's Fabrics for Fauna class have been making Snuffle Balls.

Made from donated soft, durable fleece fabrics, the enrichment toys are specially designed to encourage dogs and cats to fully utilise their keen sense of smell while foraging for hidden treats.

These toys not only provide essential mental stimulation, but they also offer a fun way to challenge their cognitive abilities and help reduce stress and anxiety, resulting in a happier, well-rounded pet.

EIS AFL

Draft Combine Testing

February 25

Students from the EIS AFL Program were put through 4 of the AFT Draft Combine Tests, administered by METs Performance.

We hope all players took the opportunity to reflect on their strengths and weaknesses going as they edge closer to the 2025 season.

Well done to Chelsea Cook and Kai Fullerton who smashed their testing battery, leading most of the tests for their class.

See photos for the 2025 Test Leaders!

Happy Pokémon Day

Februray 27

That's right, February 27 is Pokémon Day! The original Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green games debuted in Japan 29 years ago on this day.

In observation of Pokémon Day, Mr Morgan’s Year 11 and 12 combined Philosophy class put together 'My Pokémon Party' teams to celebrate this iconic date.

This activity not only allowed students to engage with their love for Pokémon but also provided a unique platform to explore deeper philosophical questions in a fun and creative way.

Year 9 & 10 Volleyball

February 27

On Thursday 27 February, the Year 9 and 10 intermediate volleyball teams went out to the Dandenong Stadium to compete against other schools.

There were 6 LHS teams, all of which had at least one win. One LHS team also made it to the Semi Finals!

It was a great day and lots of fun. We celebrated afterwards with the great LHS tradition - McDonalds!

Congratulations to all the actors, chorus, and techies for your portrayal of this haunting yet timeless story.

Year 7 & 8 Girls Cricket

March 4

(Keith Hume Fraser Reserve)

Lilydale 1 emerged as the winner of the day, showcasing an impressive display of skill and teamwork that earned them their victory.

However, it was Lilydale 2 that stole the spotlight achieving the highest cricket runs scored in a single game.

The girls put in a fantastic effort in challenging warm conditions, displaying both determination and sportsmanship throughout the matches.

Coding in DigiTech

March 5

Ms Marshall Year 7 classes have been coding with Sphero Bolts the last couple of weeks.   We use Spheros in DigiTech to introduce students to the basics of programming.

This week, 7A were tasked with coding Spheros to go through mazes or racetracks. Students used the Design Thinking Process to define, prototype and test their ideas.
