FOUNDATION 100 DAYS OF SCHOOL CELEBRATION

Grazie mille to everyone who helped make our 100 Days of School celebration so special! 💯

On Friday 7th August, our Foundation students celebrated their 100th Day of School, and what an unforgettable milestone it was!

A huge complimenti to all our Foundation students for embracing the day with such enthusiasm and for demonstrating our school values of Constant Learning, Compassion, Sense of Possibility and Mutual Responsibility throughout the celebration. We are incredibly proud of how much they have grown, learned and achieved during their first 100 days of school.

A very special grazie di cuore to our wonderful Foundation families who generously gave their time to join us for our special assembly. Your presence, encouragement and ongoing support mean so much to our students and teachers. Siete meravigliosi!

Throughout the day, we reflected on some of our favourite learning highlights from the year so far, practised counting to 100, created yummy Fruit Loop necklaces and enjoyed delicious fairy bread topped with 100s and 1000s!

It was a joyful day filled with learning, pride, fun and celebration, a wonderful way to mark such an important milestone in our Foundation journey.

How to support your child at home?

In Maths/Matematica, we are learning to partition numbers so that we can add to 10.

Here are some ways to support your child at home. 

1.  Use everyday objects: Give your child 10 small objects, such as blocks, buttons or toys. Ask them to split the objects into two groups and talk about how many are in each group (e.g. 6 and 4 make 10).

  2.    Play “Make 10” games: Hold up some fingers and ask your child how many more fingers they need to make 10. For example, “I have 7 fingers up. How many more do I need to make 10?”

  3.    Practise during everyday activities: Look for opportunities to partition numbers to 10 while playing, cooking or setting the table. Ask questions such as, “We have 8 plates. How many more do we need to have 10?” Encourage your child to explain how they worked it out.
