Congratulations to our Grade 6 girls Soccer team! They represented the Darebin Division in the Northern Region round robin last Thursday against teams from Whittlesea and Nillumbik. Our team came 3rd overall, meaning they were only one step away from making it to the state competition. It was great to see their skills on the display, both scoring and saving some amazing goals as well as awesome team work and strategy throughout the day. A massive thank you goes out to our coaches, Zaim and Lineta for their continued support across each competition day, your enthusiasm and direction played a huge part in the teams’ success!

Coming up later this term we have the Northcote District Athletics Day, at Coburg athletics track, Wed 26th August. There will be 48 Wales Street students from grades 4, 5, and 6 competing against schools from the local area. We are also looking forward to our Grade 6 inter-school sports gala day. Each of our gr 6 students have chosen to participate in one of the following sports: Volleyball, Softball, Ultimate Frisbee or Hotshots Tennis. Each of these will take place at McDonell res, Fri 11th Sept.
