Week 7 Term 3

Dear Parents and Carers,

FOOTSTEPS PERFORMANCE

It's lovely to have returned to school last Wednesday just in time for the wonderful School Performance by the children. As mentioned on the performance evening at St Fidelis, we provide a well-rounded education for all the students. We provide specialist teachers in the areas of Physical Education, Language Learning (Italian, Visual Arts, STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) and this year, Performing Arts in the area of Dance and Drama.

It is our belief, that all children learn differently and can all shine in one or many areas of the curriculum. Thank you to all the teachers for assisting with the preparation and for their extra time after school to provide this opportunity for your children. Thank you to Vira for organising all the behind the scenes and to all the families for your support and encouragement.

SPECIAL VISITORS TO ST FIDELIS

It is with much excitement to announce, that on Friday, August 25th, we have the pleasure of welcoming International LEGO Education Managers from Denmark and Australia to our school. MACS (Melbourne Archdiocese of Catholic Schools), have nominated our school to welcome and showcase the way we integrate LEGO kits and resources into our STEM education at our school.

They'll spend an hour or so meeting the team and watching the students using the LEGO Spike Prime tools. Joe and I are coordinating with Modern Teaching Aids (MTA) who are hosting this visit.

We have selected several students across the school who will participate in showcasing and demonstrating the way the equipment is used during their lessons on Friday. This is an exciting event for us all in promoting our learning and teaching and school.

CONGRATULATIONS ATHLETICS TEAM

Congratulations to all the students who participated in the district athletics event last week. We had several students who will progress to the next level of competition. I managed to go and watch the students for a short while and I was most impressed with the way they cheered and encouraged their team and showed great sportsmanship. Well done!

Thank you to Mr Troy and the parents who attended to support the children.

SCHOOL CLOSURE DAY

Next Monday is a School Closure Day. (No students at school). The school will be closed as ALL staff will attend a Spiritual Formation day off campus.

Theircare will still be providing a whole day service. If you require this service please contact THEIRCARE directly to book your child.

BOOK WEEK PARADE

As mentioned in AUDIRI last week, due to a clash of events on Friday, the BOOK WEEK Parade has been changed to Thursday 24th of August.

WORKING BEE

We are seeking at least ten volunteers to assist with our SPRING CLEAN WORKING BEE on Saturday, August 26th.
