Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Week 6 of Term 3. I can not believe that we are already halfway through the term. This week is filled with many exciting learning opportunities and events.
On this day,
'God took Mary, body and soul,
to heaven after her life on earth had come to an end.’
The Feast of the Assumption is one of the most important feast days of the year and a Holy Day of Obligation on the official Roman Catholic Church calendar. The Assumption signifies the end of Mary’s earthly life and marks her return to heaven to be reunited with Jesus. The Gospel highlights Mary's faith. Her openness to God allowed God to work through her. May we be like Mary, a model of love, devotion, and faith.
We are proud to support Bully Zero this week in their National Bullying Prevention Week. Bullying impacts over 2 million Australians every year: whether it's young people at school, employees in the workplace or all ages online, many face the challenging impacts of becoming targets of bullying behaviours.
As part of National Bullying Prevention Week, there will be an online parent session tonight, Monday 14th August at 7 pm. We highly recommend that parents take the time to explore the importance of Cyberbullying. See the Wellbeing page for more details.
As part of the week, students will learn to be a HIRO. The I standing for:
I am personally accountable,

I am respectful,
I am kind
On Friday, students can dress up a hero and raise money to support the fight against Bullying. See the Wellbeing page for more details.

We wish the district athletic team all the best as they compete this Wednesday. Thank you to Mr Jennings for his work in preparing the students for these events over the last few weeks and to Mr Troy who will support them on the day.
Congratulations to the Year 6 students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Friday night, it was such a spirit-filled ceremony. Thank you to the Year 5/6 teachers and Annette for organising such a wonderful celebration and for preparing the students so well. Bishop Curtain even commented on how reverent the students and families were.
