Secondary News
Dear Families,
With Term 3 well under way, there are many things occurring around the College.
We thank all families who attended the 2024 VCE Information Evening, it was wonderful to see so many of you attend. This event provided an opportunity for parents, guardians, and students to learn about the VCE, the process of subject selection and potential course options for our students beyond Years 11 and 12. Families were able to speak with our highly experienced VCE teachers to gain insight into the subjects on offer to our students. It was wonderful to see a buzz and excitement for our students in exploring their choices.
We are pleased to announce we have received nearly all elective and subject selections for Years 9-12 for 2024 and we thank all families for their involvement and support of their child in making these important decisions.
This week the College is celebrating Science week, and our students have the opportunity to engage in many science themed activities. A special thank you must go to the Science faculty for their dedication and enthusiasm in organising this for our students.
The following events are still to come in Term 3:
- Monday 14th August - Science Week, Year 9 and 10 Basketball
- Wednesday 16th August - Year 12 Biology Excursion
- Friday 18th August - Year 9 Shrine of Remembrance Excursion

Year 12 Biology Excursion
On Wednesday the 16th the Year 12 Biology students had the opportunity to go visit one of Agriculture Victoria’s largest laboratory sites in Bundoora (AgriBio Building Run by Agriculture Victoria).
They had the opportunity to do some different genetic tests and see some of the different jobs that are done at Agriculture Victoria that use the many different things that they are learning about in Year 12 Biology. They were also able to use bioinformatics software that agriculture victoria has created to determine how closely different species of Australian native plants are related.
All in all, it was a fantastic opportunity to see and meet some of the different scientists in Victoria.
