100 Days Brighter!
To celebrate, our Prep students dressed up in their brightest clothes or clothes that showed the number 100 and took part in fun activities throughout the day including a parade and disco!
The 100th day of school is a special moment to reflect on achievements, celebrate progress and have loads of fun. It's a reminder of how far our little ones have come on their educational journey.
A big thank you to our Prep parents for coming to celebrate and to staff that organised the day.
CONGRATULATIONS to our Preps and staff for reaching the 100 day milestone.
Wild Action
In week 5 Year 1 students had the privilege to meet some special visitors! Wild Action brought Australian species to us, in an engaging incursion experience with children getting an opportunity to touch and feel many Australian animals, whilst also learning key facts and information about why each species is threatened or endangered.
This incursion has helped students with genuine understanding as we engage in the current phase of our PBL where students work on a range of projects with the aim to assist and support threatened and endangered species.

Hands On Science
On Thursday the 3rd of August, the Year 3 students had the opportunity to engage in some ‘Hands on Science’ with the learning focus of the ‘States of Matter’.
In this engaging 90-minute incursion, students had an enjoyable time investigating solids, liquids and gases.
Everyone explored how both heat and chemicals can create changes between these states, explored the melting point of various materials, created a lava lamp, crystals from a liquid solution, a bouncy ball, had liquid races and much more!
The incursion was packed full of fun activities that extended their knowledge, guided them through each investigation and included a lot of prediction, observation and reflection on each activity.
At the end of the session, the students were inspired to continue asking questions and to follow their curious nature about how the world works.

Celebrating Science and Literature: A Dual Week Extravaganza in Primary
From the 14th - 25th of August, our learning programs have been and will be infused with the vibrant essence of Science and Book Week. This distinctive two-week period of the school year has brought forth a harmonious blend of discovery, imagination, and collaboration. Under the banner of "Innovation: Powering Future Classrooms," Science Week has taken centre stage this year.
Across every corner of our primary school, the pulse of scientific exploration beats fervently in our classrooms. This collective focus emphasises the indispensable role played by invention and innovation in shaping our world. From the core subjects to the fringes of scientific inquiry, we've embraced a spectrum of scientific domains, forging connections within our communal pursuit of knowledge. Through hands-on experiments, captivating incursions, and immersive real-world simulations, we've woven a tapestry of understanding that strengthens our scientific foundations.
Book Week echoes with the theme "Read, Grow, Inspire" – an invitation to immerse ourselves in the world of literature. To honour this theme, our classrooms have welcomed three distinguished authors: Nova Weetman, Emma Bowd, and Ingrid Laguna. Their presence has ignited our passion for both consuming and creating literature, nurturing our roles as dedicated readers and budding writers. In the week ahead, our classrooms will transform into vibrant celebrations of Book Week's nominated literary works.
The crescendo of our festivities will culminate in the grand Book Week/Science Week parade on Friday, August 25th, commencing at 9am. An open invitation extends to students, inviting them to join the event dressed in imaginative science, book, or reading-inspired costumes. Families, too, are enthusiastically welcomed to join in this colourful procession. But the jubilance doesn't end there. September 1st brings a special treat in the form of a performance by Perform Education, designed to further kindle our passion for the written word.
In these two weeks, we're not only celebrating the present but also nurturing the future. The crossroads of Science Week and Book Week forge a multi dimensional approach to learning, encompassing the wonders of innovation and the magic of literature.
As we embrace this splendid convergence, we encourage students, parents, and caregivers to share in the festivities, enriching our collective journey toward knowledge and inspiration.

National Gallery of Victoria
Junior school students experienced an Art incursion earlier this month, hosted by the National Gallery of Victoria. Students interacted and studied with the First Nations artist Jenna Lee, exploring connections between her Japanese and Indigenous Australian heritage. We soon created our very own paper lanterns in the shape of a Gulumerridjin dilly bag, using symbols and icons for our own artwork representing who we are.
