Learning Community 2

Maxine Howard and John Wigg

It's been a fantastic two weeks in Year 3/4.

We have looked at Graphing and data in Maths. We collected data from various sources such as observation and a peer survey. We then represented this data in the form of a table and column and picture graph.

In Reading we have continued our book study on 'Matilda' where we learnt about interesting and important information helped us comprehend and summarise what we have read. We have also investigated what problems arose in each chapter and how they were solved.

In Writing, we began our Poetry Anthology. We began with developing our knowledge of the structure needed for a Haiku, Limerick and Blackout poem. Using this knowledge, we then created and published our own poems which were used to create individual books of short poems.

Lastly, we headed off to Warragul for our swimming lessons. This was a fantastic experience as we learnt different skills to keep us safe in the water.

We had a great time at the Colour Fun Run last week - thanks to the many Parents and Friends who made it happen!
