Footy Colours Day & Footy Breakfast - Friday 15th September

With the end of term fast approaching, it is almost time for that wonderful SKiPPS tradition - Footy Colours Day.

In celebration of St Kilda's almost-certain appearance in the Grand Final, we invite all students, staff and parents to put on the jerseys or colours of their favourite side and wear these proudly to school on Friday 15th September - the final day of term 3.

These could be AFL, NRL, soccer or any other sport - maybe we will see some Matildas fans this year. We will have a Footy Colours parade on the basketball court at assembly time and classes are already planning some football themed learning activities for the day.

SKiPPA, our Parents' Association will kick the day off at 8am by firing up the BBQs and getting the coffee ready for a special Footy Colours breakfast.

They will have bacon and egg rolls for sale and a coffee cart operating for the absolutely best way to end this term. We hope to see you here.

Join us for an evening celebrating the musical diversity of our local community covering genres from Classical through to jazz and pop. We invite you come together to share music and raise funds to support the SKiPPS Orchestra, our next generation of musicians!

Coming up to a decade old, the Orchestra has provided an invaluable opportunity for students to play in an ensemble and begin a lifelong musical journey. We will be lucky enough to have some former SKiPPS students perform on the night along with other friends of the Orchestra.

Performances from previous soirées have included opera singing, a Tuba and fiddle klezmer duet and a Cello ensemble with eight cellos!

If anyone would like to enquire about performing, please let Simon Chatfield know (simechaty@hotmail.com or 0411441966).  Classical, jazz, pop or any other genres are welcome! Solos, duets or other size ensembles.

All funds from the ticket sales will go towards the payment of our Orchestra conductor to supplement the voluntary contributions of orchestra member’s families and help keep the Orchestra experience accessible.

Donations are also welcome via our Australian Cultural Fund donation program

All donations are appreciated . Donations over $2 are tax deductible.
