A message from the Principal

Another Walkathon success

Thanks to everyone involved in our annual SKiPPS walkathon on Monday of this week.

The walkathon is a long established SKiPPS tradition and a great opportunity for our students to get active and help raise funds for the school.

It was wonderful to see so many enthusiastic students walking and running laps of the oval for the event.  Whole school events such as the walkathon are important school community events that showcase the school values of resilience, respect, creativity and kindness and these values were  proudly displayed throughout the afternoon.

It was also really nice to be able to hold a community celebration after-school with icy poles and a sausage sizzle as a treat for being so active.

As with all of our fundraising efforts, all of the money raised goes towards making our school a better place for our students. In particular the money from Walkathon will be used next year to upgrade our school basketball court.

There are a large number of people who made the event a success and we would like to thank;

  • Susan Bishop for once again coordinating this active event.
  • The many parent volunteers who supported  with the walkathon and after-party, marking wristbands, cutting up and handing out oranges, cooking sausages, selling icy poles and cheering our students on.
  • Rachael O'Connor for coordinating the after-school stalls.

Now that the walkathon is complete, students are being asked to collect their sponsorship money. We are asking families to make their payment via Compass School Manager.

When parents login to Compass https://skipps-vic.compass.education under the links on the home page you will see an option for ‘Course Confirmation and Payments’. Clicking on this allows you to see ‘Walk-a-thon (optional contribution)’.  Then you can enter any amount raised through sponsorship and make a secure payment by credit card. Online payments are open and ready to go.

We seek your support in ensuring the success of our walkathon by helping your child to find sponsors and collect and return the money raised to the school.
