Dear Families & Carers,
NEWSLETTER
As of next term, we will be moving to a fortnightly edition of our newsletter publication. As we transition to using Class Dojo more, the instant communication we see in this app has somewhat replaced some of the communication coming of of the newsletter. The newsletter will be published next term on every even week. Newsletter day will remain on a Tuesday.
On Monday our school joined together for our weekly Assembly. This week, we were delighted by our Foundation students who have been learning songs in sign language. The kids sang and signed to Alice the Camel - what a delight.
Congratulations to our 'Student of the Week' recipients for this week.
Foundation: Deegan
Grade 1/2BH: Alexis
Grade 1/2NH: Josiah
Grade 3/4WY: Christopher
Grade 4/5G: Mckenzie
Grade 5/6G: Olive
Our Class DoJo award winner for this week was Mckenzie. Congratulations Mckenzie!!
SIMON EVERYWHERE
Next term, we will be rolling out a new feature to our families that is an extension of our internal SIMON system. We will be utilising this app to notify family of first aid incidents, provide permission for excursions and notify us of an absence. Parents will also then have access to our electronic calendar at school. We are doing this to streamline our communication platforms. Stay tuned for more information in Term 4!
STAFFING ANNOUNCEMENTS
Greg Young has decided, with medical advice, to remain on leave for the remainder of the 2023 school year. As a school community, we continue to keep Greg and his health in our thoughts and prayers. Mrs. Cathie Walsh is happy to remain full time in the Grade 3/4 classroom, which we are all so grateful for. Mrs. Kirby is also happy to continue in the Physical Education position. We are very lucky to have staff willing to step in and help when needed, keeping the focus on our students.
In closing, we wish to remind families that we have an early finish at 2.10pm this Friday due to the term break. We will return all refreshed on Monday the 2nd of October. Term 4 is set to be action packed with a number of events in the first few weeks of school. Please keep an eye on the important dates. Permission forms are going home today for the Winton Wetlands Excursion (F-2) & Grade 5/6G's excursion to the LUME Melbourne.
Blessings,
Cassie Lynch
