Team Leader's Message

Term 3

Term 3 has continued to be full of learning, fun and adventure in Secondary 7/8.

This term,has seen the continuation of weekly rehearsals for the Secondary Spectacular ‘Concord School Musical’ performance. Each class took part in weekly dance rehearsals, and those students who were cast as lead roles worked hard to learn the script. This led to a fantastic performance to our School community on Thursday the 7th of September, and our family and friends on Friday the 8th September. 

During our Discovery Unit students have been learning all about Australian Animals and their habitats. Students have participated in numerous excursions and incursions to extend their learning. These have included a visit from ‘The Zoo that comes to you’, as well as a trip to the Healesville Sanctuary, Gresswell Reserve and Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary. Throughout these experiences students were given an opportunity to see first hand the habitats these animals live in. 

This has led into our Literacy learning, where students have been focusing on Writing based on a shared experience. Through the use of graphic organisers and writing templates students have created individualised texts based on these experiences. 

In Maths, our focus has been on exploring the concepts of multiplication and division, money and financial mathematics and using units of measurement.

We hope all students have a safe and happy holidays, and we look forward to Term 4 - another term full of learning!
