Hey there, Karoo Primary School families and friends!
We've got some incredible news to share with you about a recent and special visitor to our school. Drumroll, please...It's none other than the amazing Richard Culatta, Chief Executive Officer at the International Society for Technology in Education (ITSE) from Washington DC!
Who's Richard Culatta?
Richard Culatta is like a tech superhero! He's a true expert and worldwide leader in the realm of technology in education. With a background in education and a passion for innovation, Mr. Culatta has worked on many exciting projects and initiatives to make learning even more awesome. He even worked at the Whitehouse as a Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Education under the Obama administration...so needless to say...he knows his stuff!
Talking Tech:
During his visit, Mr. Culatta was super impressed by all the fantastic ways we're using technology right here at Karoo Primary School. He chatted with teachers, students, and even took a peek at our tech-savvy classrooms. He celebrated all the creative and active ways we're using technology to enhance our learning experience. How cool is that?
Lights, Camera, Interview!
In addition to getting to talk to our Year 6 students, Mr. Culatta also sat down for an exclusive interview with the stars of Karoo's Got News! Yep, that's right – our very own student-led school news show. Our young reporters got to ask him all sorts of tech-related questions, and his answers were as inspiring as they were enlightening. The full interview will be released soon...we just have to do a bit of editing.
Spotlight at EduTech Conference
But that's not all – Mr. Culatta made sure to shine a spotlight on our school at the EduTech Conference in the city which saw people from all over Australia and the world converse in the name of tech. I was lucky enough to go along and I'm certainly glad I did! In his keynote address to around 10,000 educators, tech developers and industry leaders, he talked about the incredible things happening here at Karoo Primary School. We're officially making waves not just in our school, but in the big, wide world of education technology!
So, how about that? Our school is being noticed in the world of education technology, and it's all thanks to the fantastic work we're doing together. Let's keep the tech magic alive, Karoo students and families!
Stay tuned for more exciting updates and remember – the future is bright, and it's filled with pixels of possibility!
Tech-tastically yours,
Mr Horne
