New - AsheFest - Celebrating Culture Together

Our Indigenous students will be attending AsheFest.

Grades Prep-3 Wednesday 6th September, 9.30am - 2.30pm

Grades 4-6 Thursday 7th September, 9.30am -2.30pm

The students will travel from school by bus to Rumbalara FNC, Mercury Drive, Shepparton. They will leave school by 9:10 am and return after the event. 

 

The children will be able to enjoy face painting, story time with elders, do arts and crafts, play traditional Indigenous games, join in with traditional dancing and return to school with an ASHE Show bag. There are also special appearances of AsheMan and RumbaWoman! 

The children will have a sausage sizzle for lunch. 

Children will need to bring their school bag, with a snack for morning tea and a bottle of water. 

Children can wear their full school sports uniform.

 

Permission notes have been emailed out, please respond to ensure your child/ren is able to attend.

At St Mary’s Primary School Mooroopna we Acknowledge the Traditional people of this land. The Yorta Yorta Nation are the Traditional Custodians of this area and we remember their elders, past, present and future. We remember that the Aboriginal people of Australia will always be the  traditional owners of the land on which we gather today. We continue to grow through education and reconciliation to a better future for all Australians.
